W&M Construction Completes Philip Morris Project in 8 Weeks

May 16, 1997

STAMFORD, Conn.-W&M Construction has completed-in just 8 weeks-the renovation of a 44,000-square-foot office space for Philip Morris Management at First Stamford Place, announces Timothy Yahn, vice president of W&M Construction.

"The teamwork and level of cooperation among the client, its vendors, architect, building manager, and W&M made it possible to meet a demanding schedule," says Mr. Yahn. "By working weekends and nights, we were able to complete the project just in time to facilitate a critical move-in date for the client, who had scheduled the relocation of its offices and employees from a building located in Westchester."

The architect for Philip Morris was A.R. Bacon Architects, P.C., and the engineering firm was Arthur Breuery Professional Engineers. W&M Construction acted as general contractor after having successfully competitively bid against other local and major New York City firms. First Stamford Place is managed by TrizecHahn Office Properties.

"We were very pleased with the work that W&M Construction did for us," says Jonathan Contract, facility planning supervisor, Philip Morris Management. "In fact, all of the trades put in an extraordinary effort on our behalf."

W&M Construction is an affiliate of W&M Properties, the real estate management, marketing and acquisition arm of the Malkin family, which has commercial and residential operations in six states. W&M Construction operates throughout the New York metropolitan area, including Fairfield and Westchester counties, and has offices in Stamford and Manhattan.
